Privacy policy.
Crease Cricket shows world cricket scores. We collect as little as possible, never sell data, and analytics only runs if you opt in.
1. What we collect
- Scores browsing: no account needed. We count live/upcoming/finished matches in your browser only.
- Match alerts: we previously ran a match-alert signup and stored the email addresses people submitted. That feature never sent mail, so we removed it. We still hold those addresses in our store, we never used them, and you can ask us to delete yours via the contact page — we will, within 2 business days.
- Contact messages: your name, email and message so we can reply.
- Consent choice: stored in your browser (
crease-consent-v1) so we remember Accept / Reject. - On-device preferences: starred teams, home-country pick, last-viewed match and dismissed tips stay in your browser only (
crease-favorites-v1,crease-home-v1,crease-home-pick-v1,crease-last-match-v1,crease-tips-v1). We never see them; clearing site data removes them. Feed filters (crease-prefs-v1) additionally mirror to a first-partycrease-prefscookie — same values, so the server can render your view on first paint instead of reshuffling after load. It holds no identity, expires after a year, and is never used for tracking. - Shared-link tags: copied match links may carry a
?ref=source tag (e.g.?ref=card) so we can tell sharing works. It contains no identity, is only added with analytics consent, and is ignored otherwise.
2. Analytics — off by default
We use consent-gated, privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics, cookieless). It only loads after you click “Accept analytics”, and never loads if your browser sends Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control. You can change your mind anytime by clearing site data or contacting us.
3. Cookies
- Essential: consent choice only. No tracking.
- Preferences (functional): your feed filters mirror to a first-party
crease-prefscookie so pages load already filtered. Same values as your browser settings, 1-year expiry, never tracking. - Analytics (opt-in only): aggregated page views, filter usage, share opens (
?ref=tags), no cross-site tracking, no ad IDs.
4. Third parties
Live data comes from third-party cricket data feeds. Team logos are served through our own image proxy, so your browser never contacts the image hosts directly. Fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees standard request logs (IP, user-agent) when your browser fetches from it.
5. Data retention
Contact messages are kept up to 12 months. Consent records stay in your browser until you clear them. Addresses collected by the retired alert signup are kept only until you ask us to delete them, and we will never send marketing mail to them.
6. Your rights
Ask for access, correction or deletion of your contact data — or of any address from the retired alert signup — anytime via our contact page. We reply within 2 business days.
7. Children
Crease Cricket is a general-audience scores site and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
